I have been an educator in Texas for 20+ years, and over the course of my teaching career I have taught thousands of students in grades 6th-12th. I have taught English I-IV, Language Arts 6th-8th, Public Speaking, Communications Applications, and served as an Instructional Technology Specialist.
I have a Bachelor's of Arts in English and Education and a Master's of Science in Educational Technology. In 2021 I was asked to start the Reading interventionist program for the middle school division on my campus, and I decided to start a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction in Literature, so I am back in school as a student again!
I love reading. It has always been a constant in my life. I read daily and decided maybe it was time to share some of that love with you all. I hope you find assistance on this site, but more importantly, I hope I inspire you to read a book, and I hope that book sparks a life-long love of reading in you as well.
I have attempted to provide you with my personal thoughts on each of the books I share. I have categorized them to help you locate something you might enjoy reading, and I have tried to include a note about anything someone might find objectionable in each of the books, so you can choose the best fit for you.
I encourage you to stretch your comfort zone and explore books in genres you perhaps would not normally choose as well as books centered around different cultures than your own.
